ipad paintings

Here are a few more quick ipad paintings I've done lately. Rather than try to paint an entire scene, I've been focusing on capturing one effect more closely. It's fun to do as a warmup or a little note on light and color effects, and I'm learning a lot!

The first on is a 10-ish minute painting of a gold statue at the Museum of African Art, and the one below is my mug of tea. It had this weird yellow-greenish color at the top that gradated down to a warm brown-red at the bottom as the depth increased, super interesting. The ellipse of the cup here is terrible though. I need to work on ellipse drawing in perspective!

  1. Wow I haven't seen anyone else do such detailed iPad drawings... really nice values and color sense. :D
